Nigerian Student scored 5.0 CGPA in Russsia to make World Record.

A Nigerian student, Victor Olalusi, has reportedly scored 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at the Russian National Research Medical University, Moscow, a world record.
This piece of information was made available by the federal ministry of education on Wednesday in Abuja, when it honoured the young doctor, who achieved the feat in 2013, arguably the first in the world.

Oshiomhole - DPR Collected N30bn illegally.

Edo state Governor Adams Oshiomhole who has continued to exposed illegal loots or deductions without proper authorisation has once more hinted that Department of Petroleum Resource (DPR) may have collected about N30 billion illegally by deducting cost of revenues at the source from federal government ministries and agencies.

PM News reported that the governor made this statement after the chairman of Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Elias Mbam, announced that all federal government ministries and agencies have been ordered to stop such deductions.

6ft 4in American cow is finally recognised as the tallest one EVER by Guinness World Records... a month after she died

A 6-foot-4 cow named Blosom is officially recognized as the tallest cow ever by Guinness World Records.

Although she is no longer alive, the 2,000-lb cow was announced as the new record holder on June 25.

Blosom, who was named by Guinness as the world's tallest living cow last August, died on a farm in northern Illinois on May 26 after holding that record for less than a year.

Tragedy Averted As Aviation Fuel Tanker Tumbles At Lagos Airport.

A 33,000-litre aviation fuel tanker delivering content to the international wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport yesterday tumbled near the airport’s access gate.
According to eyewitness reports, the tanker with the Lagos registration number AAA 991 XQ, which was filled to the brim with JET A1, fell when the driver wanted to navigate the sharp bend around the airport.
The tanker was coming from Ikeja and was going to the international wing of the airport before the accident occurred around 10am.

Tragedy was, however, averted due to the quick response of the Fire Service men of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Lagos State Fire Service, the Nigeria Police and other emergency response agencies.

Who shot Cecil? First it was thought that a mystery Spaniard had the blood of one of Africa’s most famous lions on his hands. Then came a fresh twist. The Cecil slayer, Zimbabwean conservations said on Tuesday, was in fact a dentist from Minnesota.

American Walter Palmer was said to be “quite upset” as the hunter became hunted. Zimbabwean police warned that he faced poaching charges, while there was a furious backlash on social media, with Facebook users variously calling for him to be publicly shamed, have his teeth pulled out without anaesthetic or be hunted and killed.

Nigerians go after gay activist, Bisi Alimi on Facebook.

A gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, caused a stir on Wednesday as he mocked Nigeria on the Facebook.

Alimi, the first Nigerian to declare publicly his support for same sex union, noted that the country “will go down soon unless it stopped praying to God and started acting”.

He wrote from the United Kingdom where he is on a self-imposed exile.

Soon after his comment, which many considered unpatriotic, was published, hundreds of Nigerians responded on Facebook, blogs, Twitter and Instagram.

Responding from Abuja, one Chinelo Peters described the words used by Alimi as derogatory and unpatriotic.

He urged him to channel his energy into a positive cause that could impact on the country instead of complaining from the UK.
