Naij.com had reported that the respected monarch passed on in London on Tuesday night, but the palace in Ife denied the reports, stating that they were yet to be informed of any such development.

It is still unclear whether the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, is actually dead.
The Nation now reports that Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK), Dr Dalhatu Tafida, has visited the London home of the revered Oba to commiserate with his family, and was there for about one hour.
Tafida stated that he visited the family, including Oba Sijuwade’s son, Adetokunbo, and condoled with the family on behalf of the federal government, telling them that they could ask for consular support if the need arises.
A source present during Tafida’s visit informed that the wives, children and an unnamed traditional ruler were present at Oba Sijuwade’s home in London during the condolence visit.
The Nation correspondent informed further, that efforts to reach Adetokunbo, who stays in Banyan House in the upscale neighbourhood in Lensbury Avenue of Southwest London, were not successful last night, as calls to his phones were answered, but he kept saying: “I will call you back.”
What exactly is happening? Is this man dead or alive?
