Chaos at the 2015 election of National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes.
There was chaos after the 2015 election of National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes (NANP) on Sunday, August 9.
According to Daily Post report, the election took place at a popular hangout, along Lasu-Iba road on Saturday.
Violence erupted on Sunday after the former secretary of the association, Jessica Elvis was declared winner of the keenly contested election.
The 2015 electoral committee chairman, Franca ‘Top Up’ Chikam had announced Elvis as the winner, after she polled 300 votes to defeat the incumbent, Madam Felix Efoyo, who garnered 153 votes and also Nasarawa state coordinator, Tamar Tion who got 63 votes.
But Efoyo revolted and ordered for a fresh election insisting that she was rigged out.
According to her, the election was marred with irregularities.
As the argument raged on, a fight broke out. In the process, one of the commercial sex workers believed to be loyal to Efoyo broke a bottle and stabbed another of her colleague.
Last week, about 50 members of the Nigeria Association of Prostitutes trooped out to the Ogun state branch of the Nigerian Union of Journalists’ Press centre, Abeokuta, following the death of their colleague. They demanded that the police help find their colleague’s killer, asking for protection for their other members.
